NCAA: Bolick loved his 50 points, but hated his 6 turnovers

Robert Bolick acknowledged that his 50-point game was far from perfect
Robert Bolick made history on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Dropping 50 points in San Beda University’s 98-79 victory versus Arellano University, he registered the first 50-point game in the Final Four era of the NCAA.
Instead of basking in the glow of his historic performance, though, Bolick opted to look at things to improve upon.
In fact, the first words out of his mouth in the post-game conference were, “Siguro, aayusin ko lang taking care of the ball, six turnovers. Masaya na si coach kasi maganda na ang laro ko, but at the back of his mind, galit siya kasi 79 (points ang Arellano), hindi kami dumedepensa ngayon.”
Right after that was the only time Bolick acknowledged how special the day is for him. “Sa NCAA, 25 (points) lang ang career-high ko. For me, ‘di ako scorer, more of a facilitator, but once you get going, yun na yun, tuloy-tuloy na,” he said.
He then continued, “Swerte lang talaga ngayong araw na ‘to. ‘Di ko makakalimutan yung date na ‘to.”
And, modest as always, the brand new 50-point man deflected all credit to his teammates. As he put it, “Nagpapasalamat ako sa teammates ko kasi hinanap nila ako ngayon. Binibigay nila sa aking ‘tong larong ‘to and hopefully, tuloy-tuloy na sa amin ‘to.”
Keep doing you, Robert Bolick. Keep doing you.
