Michael Calisaan is making every game count, it's his last year after all.
Raring to make the most out of his last college playing year, Michael Calisaan balled his heart out in his last All Star game appearance.
Calisaan registered 17 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists for his Saints All Star team, Friday evening, making him perfect for the MVP recognition.
"Ginawa ko lang po best ko kasi last na 'to 'di na mauulit. Ginrab ko opportunity na every time ipasok ginagawa ko lahat," said the Golden Stag.
The San Sebastian standout was joined by stars from San Beda University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, College of Saint Benilde, and University of Perpetual Help.
Bonding with players from opponent teams in a game is a rare opportunity that Calisaan was able to enjoy during the mid-season festivities.
"Okay naman [yung bonding]. Masaya sila kasama. Lalo na 'tong [si Robert Bolick], napakakulit," he shared.
The Saints were mentored by three-time All Star winning coach Boyet Fernandez of the San Beda Red Lions.
"Alam mo, nung nakita ko yung lineup ko, mahirap matalo dito pag ganito ang lineup, ang galing eh," said Fernandez on his highly stacked team composed of several graduating stars like Calisaan, Robert Bolick, Bong Quinto, and Javee Mocon.
"I'm happy to coach them for once in my lifetime kasi gagraduate na sila, malapit na yan, aangat na sa PBA yan."
"Thank you sa NCAA for giving us this day na nagkasama-sama kami ulit just like last year. This is a memorable day for us kasi mas maraming seniors sa amin. At least nanalo kami. Fitting farewell for them sa All-Star," Fernandez added.
The All Star festivities may be all about fun and friendship but the ten teams will immediately be back to serious business come September 4 for the start of the second round.
Calisaan will look power the 1-8 San Sebastian Stags to climb up the ladder in the second round starting September 7 as they face Emilio Aguinaldo College.
