For the first time in over five years, Jerry Codinera will not be calling the shots for Arellano University as the second round of the NCAA 94 Men’s Basketball Tournament rolls along.
That may just be the opening College of St. Benilde has been hoping for as it tries for a much-needed bounce back win up against the Chiefs on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Blazers (7-5) are looking to take full advantage as Arellano (4-7) ushers in a new era starting at 2:00 PM and of course, all of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and livestream.
Meanwhile, Colegio de San Juan de Letan (7-4) is wary of suddenly streaking Intramuros neighbor Mapua University (4-8) at 12:00 PM while unbeaten Lyceum of the Philippines University (12-0) figures in a showdown with daring University of Perpetual Help (6-5) at 4:00 PM.
In Juniors action, the defending champion CSB-La Salle Greenhills Junior Blazers (10-2) try for a bounce back win opposite the Arellano Braves (5-6) who are desperate for a winning streak at 8:00 AM. There will also be matchups between the Mapua Red Robins (9-3) and the Letran Squires (3-8) at 10:00 AM and between the Perpetual Junior Altas (5-6) and the LPU Junior Pirates (5-7) at 6:00 PM.
