NCAA Season 94: LPU keeps pace in Juniors Final Four race
Lyceum of the Philippines tripped Mapua University to fuel its bid for a spot in the Final Four of the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball competition.

Lyceum of the Philippines University boosted its bid for a spot in the Final Four after taking down the second-running Mapua University, 89-78, Tuesday in the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Mclaude Guadana and John Barba paced the Junior Pirates with 26 and 24 points, respectively, while Jearelan Omandac posted a double-double of 14 markers and 10 rebounds for LPU’s eight win in 15 games.

The Junior Pirates moved one and a half game behind no. 4 Jose Rizal University (9-6).

The Red Robins absorbed their fourth loss in 15 outings but remained at second place behind Final Four-bound La Salle Greenhills (12-2).

Dan Arches led Mapua with 29 points.

Meanwhile, Romuel Junsay dropped 20 points while Aaron Fermin got 19 markers and 12 rebounds to lead Arellano University to an 85-73 victory over Emilio Aguinaldo College.

The Braves improved to 6-8 while the also-ran Brigadiers slid to 3-12.

Cjay Boado scored 23 and pulled down 10 boards for EAC.
