NCAA: Cardinals take flight once more at expense of Generals
Mapua arrested a three-game slide and got back on track

Mapua University will not stop working even though it has already been eliminated in the NCAA 94 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

That much was evident as Laurenz Victoria and Noah Lugo did the heavy lifting in the Cardinals’ 80-67 victory versus Emilio Aguinaldo College on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Victoria was all over the floor with 15 points, six assists, four rebounds, and four steals while Lugo topped the scoring column with 18 markers, four dimes, and three boards.

Of course, it didn’t come easy as Jerome Garcia and the Generals were still threatening at 53-54 early in the final frame before Victoria detonated a 10- blast that re-increased Mapua’s lead to 64-53.

Not long after, they finalized their ascent to 5-11.

Hamadou Laminou paced 4-12 EAC with a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double.
