Levi Dela Cruz was on fire all game long in Arellano's return to the win column
Arellano University no longer has anything to play for in the NCAA 94 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
That doesn’t mean, however, that they will no longer step down on the gas pedal.
The Chiefs proved just that and more on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre as they ran over hapless Jose Rizal University, 86-70.
Levi Dela Cruz waxed hot right from tip-off and spearheaded Arellano’s 23-3 surge to start the game.
He would only keep going from there just as his teammates joined in on the fun.
In the end, the Chiefs never trailed and were never threatened en route to hiking their record to 5-10.
Dela Cruz wound up with 19 points built on five triples to lead four other teammates in double-digits.
On a more personal note, Arellano has gifted new head coach Junjie Ablan his first win.
Mark Mallari and Leo Esguerra topped the scoring column for the Heavy Bombers with 17 points apiece. They dropped to 2-14 with the loss.
