RK Ilagan just couldn't be stopped in San Sebastian's romp of Mapua
San Sebastian College-Recoletos no longer has anything to play for but school pride in the NCAA 94 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Without a doubt, RK Ilagan made his school proud as he scored a career-high 26 points in the Golden Stags’ 86-64 stampede over Mapua University on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Baste has long been eliminated from contention, but that didn’t stop Ilagan from giving his all and getting for his team a much-needed bounce back win.
The scoring guard did much of his damage from long-range with six of his squad’s 10 total triples. “It’s RK’s day today and alam naman natin na pag araw niya, uulan ng tres,” head coach Egay Macaraya said post-game.
He was only backstopped by Michael Calisaan who had 16 points and five rebounds as well as Allyn Bulanadi and Ken Villapando who had 10 markers apiece.
With that, San Sebastian improved its standing to 5-12.
Now on even ground with them are the Cardinals who were paced by rookie Warren Bonifacio who posted a 14-point, 15-rebound double-double.
