Mapua ends NCAA 94 on high note with blowout win vs Arellano
Mapua ends their season at a 6-12 record while Arellano falls to 5-12, with their season concluding against the San Sebastian Stags on Tuesday.

The Mapua Cardinals end their NCAA Season 94 campaign positively as they score a 91-78 win against the Arellano University Chiefs at the FilOil Flying V Centre Tuesday evening.

Mapua ends their season at a 6-12 record while Arellano falls to 5-12, with their season concluding against the San Sebastian Stags on Tuesday.

The Cardinals relied on the backcourt of Noah Lugo and Cedric Pelayo to pull away from their opponents in the third quarter, before blowing it up to a lead as large as 19 in the final period.

Coach Atoy Co and his team fall short of the Final Four for the second straight season, but improved by three wins from their disastrous finish last year.

"I told them that this was our last game and end the season on a good note. Mas maganda kung matapos ito ng panalo at tinalo naman namin sila last time. We really have to play as a team," Co shared after the game.

His wards heeded their mentor's call, as they dished out 25 assists, against just eight from their opponents.

Arellano meanwhile has not made it to the postseason since Jio Jalalon led them to the NCAA Season 92 Finals vs San Beda.

Pelayo ends his collegiate career with his best-ever showing of 21 points, while the second-year Lugo also scored 21, while Laurenz Victoria added 15.

Ian Alban meanwhile recorded 19 markers, while Mike Canete contributed 15 points.
