NCAA Season 94: San Beda, Arellano U stake unbeaten slates

Two-time defending champion Arellano University eyes its fifth straight win.
Defending two-time champion Arellano University and San Beda University put their unblemished records on the line against their respective foes Thursday in the NCAA Season 94 women's volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Both teams tote perfect 4-0 win-loss records for a share of the lead.
The Lady Red Spikers battle a surging Jose Rizal University side at 12:00 noon to be followed the the Lady Chiefs' 2:00 p.m. showdown against Lyceum of the Philippines University. Both matches will air live via livestream.
San Beda is coming off a weeklong rest after taking down Emilio Aguinaldo College, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.
League-leading scorer Nieza Viray, Cesca Racraquin, Trisha Paras and Sattriani Espiritu will again be at the forefront of the Lady Red Spikers' charge.
After back-to-back defeats to start its campaign, JRU is now on the right track after winning two straight games. The Lady Bombers hope to use the momentum of their victories over Letran and Mapua to put a dent on San Beda's card.
Meanwhile, the Lady Chiefs remain on the right track for a grand slam.
Arellano University won three of its first four games in sweeping fashion. The Lady Chiefs are favored to prevail against a squad down with back-to-back losses.
The Lady Pirates hold a 1-3 slate tied with Letran.
