NCAA Season 94 volleyball: LPU rediscovers winning ways
Lyceum of the Philippines University snapped a three-game slide at the expense of hapless Mapua University.

Lyceum of the Philippines University kept Mapua University winless after a swift work 25-20, 25-20, 25-20, to barge back in the win column Monday in the NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball tournament Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan. 

The Lady Pirates ended a three-game slump with a convincing victory that hiked their record to 2-4.

Rocelyn Hongria bullied her way to 18 points, smashing 11 kills with four kill blocks and three aces for LPU, which will return to action on January 4 against streaking College of St. Benilde.

Bien Juanillo and Cherilyn Sindayen added 10 markers each while Mikaela Rafael finished with eight points, all coming off attacks, for the Lady Pirates.

LPU lorded it over at the net, tallying 11 kill blocks and frustrating the Lady Cardinals’ hitters.

Mapua dropped its fifth straight match in as many outings to tie Emilio Aguinaldo College at the cellar.

Carla Gaudan came off the bench and scored 10 points to lead the Lady Cardinals while Jan Morano scored seven.
