Mapua, San Beda headline coaching carousel in NCAA Jrs.
The battlefield in the NCAA Juniors next year will have four new generals

Two of the four playoff teams from the NCAA 94 Juniors Basketball Tournament will have new shot-callers.

Randy Alcantara has moved on from defending champion Mapua High School at the same time JB Sison is no longer with third-placer San Beda High School.

Coach Randy remains with Mapua, but instead of the Red Robins, he now mans the sidelines for the Cardinals. Replacing him in the Juniors team will be coach Yong Garcia, as first reported by Reuben Terrado of spin.ph.

Garcia will be tasked to continue the Red Robins’ resurrection into a powerhouse that has won two titles in the last three years and has made the Finals four times out of the last five.

For San Beda, coach JB will now focus on his post as assistant with the Red Lions while the Red Cubs, according to sources, will now be under coach Manu Inigo.

Inigo will be tasked to guide the Red Cubs’ return to the promised land – a place they have not been to in the last three seasons after having won seven straight championships.

The winningest squad in the NCAA Juniors will also get an extra boost with the return of coach Britt Reroma as team manager, as per the same sources.

The coaching carousel doesn’t end there just yet as two other teams will also have new coaches.

Arellano High School will now be mentored by Junjie Ablan who takes over for Tylon Darjuan.

Ablan, the interim coach for the Chiefs a season ago, will be tasked to bring the Braves back to contention following back-to-back disappointing campaigns.

Meanwhile, Lyceum of the Philippines University will also have a brand new shot-caller who is yet to be named.

Late last year, longtime mentor LA Mumar was let go by the Junior Pirates. As per Topex Robinson, the school’s head of basketball operations, they are still in the middle of a coaching search.
