University of Perpetual Help fueled its drive for a spot in the Final Four with a straight sets win over Mapua University.
Cindy Imbo and Hannah Suico led the charge in University of Perpetual Help's 25-22, 25-17, 25-15, domination of Mapua University Monday in the NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Imbo displayed an all-around effort after scoring 12 points with all but one coming off attacks while adding 16 digs as the Lady Altas climbed to a share of the fourth to fifth spot with idle San Sebastian College with 4-2 win-loss record.
Suico added 11 markers, all from spikes, while Jowie Albert Versoza got eight points and two excellent receptions for the Las Pinas-based squad.
Necelle Gual tallied 26 excellent sets to help Perpetual blast 36 kill points.
The Lady Altas won their second straight match after crushing Letran last month before the long holiday break.
Perpetual remains in a must-win situation in the race for the last three semis seats.
The Lady Altas’ last three assignments are against semis-bound unbeaten defending champion Arellano University, SSC-R and Jose Rizal University.
The Lady Cardinals fell to 1-6 slate and failed to take advantage of their morale-boosting win over Emilio Aguinaldo College last week that snapped Mapua’s three-year, 23-game losing skid.
Jan Morano finished with eight point to pace the Lady Cardinals while Loraine Barias and Alissa Magallanes combined for 11 markers.
