San Beda University looks to join unbeaten defending champion Arellano University in the Final Four.
San Beda University sets its sights on a third straight Final Four stint when the Lady Red Spikers clash with San Sebastian College Tuesday in the NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Lady Red Spikers sport a 6-1 win-loss record and a win over the Lady Stags in their 2:00 p.m. encounter will hand San Beda the second semis berth to join unbeaten defending champion Arellano University.
The match will air via livestream.
SSC-R holds a 4-2 card tied with University of Perpetual Help. The Lady Stags are in a must-win situation in the race for a semis seat.
“Nasa kanila ang pressure kasi sila ang naghahabol kung ano man ang goals nila so kami dapat steady lang kami kung ano ang goal namin and gawin lang namin ang trabaho namin,” said San Beda skipper Cesca Racraquin.
Aside from Racraquin, the Lady Red Spikers will also pin their hopes on Viray twins Nieza and Jiezela, Sattriani Espiritu and Trisha Paras.
San Beda is coming off a straight sets win over Letran.
The Lady Stags suffered a painful defeat at the hands of Jose Rizal University, 18-25, 20-25, 24-26, putting them in a precarious position of missing the semis for the second straight year.
Meanwhile, College of St. Benilde guns for its sixth straight win and to secure at least a playoff for a semis berth in a clash with JRU at 12:00 noon.
The Lady Blazers carry a 5-1 slate at third spot and are fresh off a four-set win over Lyceum of the Philippines University Friday.
The Lady Bombers sport a 4-3 card.
