College of St. Benilde hopes to keep its winning run going as the Lady Chiefs face struggling San Sebastian College.
Already assured of a semifinals berth, College of St. Benilde now looks to sustain its momentum as it eyes its seventh win in a row against San Sebastian College Friday in the NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The streaking Lady Blazers will collide with the slumping Lady Stags at 2:00 p.m. in a match that will air live via livestream.
CSB, which occupies the third spot with a 6-1 win-loss card, is through to the semifinals with unbeaten defending two-time champion Arellano University (8-0) and San Beda University (7-1).
The Lady Blazers are still in the running for a twice-to-beat advantage in a Final Four format or a chance to get a bye in the first phase of the stepladder semis in case Arellano U completes an elimination round sweep.
The Lady Stags, on the other hand, is in a must-win situation to keep its semifinals hopes alive.
SSC-R is in a two-way tie with University of Perpetual Help at fourth to fifth with a 4-3 card. The Lady Stags are on a two-game losing skid and another loss will put them in a precarious position to miss the semis for the second straight season.
Meanwhile, also-ran Lyceum of the Philippines University (2-5) clashes with winless Emilio Aguinaldo College (0-8) at 12:00 noon.
