NCAA Season 94 volleyball: Lady Altas move closer to last semis berth

University of Perpetual Help inched closer to the last semifinals berth.
University of Perpetual Help secured at least a playoff for the last semifinals berth after a quick work of skidding San Sebastian College, 25-19, 25-8, 18-25, 25-17, Monday in the NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Lady Altas returned in the win column and improved to 5-3 win-loss record.
Perpetual, which bucked a third set collapse, can formally advance into the semis with another win on Thursday against Jose Rizal University.
Jowie Albert Versoza showed the way for the Lady Altas with 15 points with all but one coming off attacks while adding 13 digs.
Jenny Gaviola and Cindy Imbo posted 12 markers each while Necelle Gual tallied 27 excellent sets that helped Perpetual score 47 attack points.
In case, the Lady Altas loses to the Lady Bombers, there will be a playoff for the last semis seat.
The Lady Stags dropped their fourth straight match to close the elimination round with 4-5 mark and were booted out of the semis race for the second straight season.
Maryrhose Dapol and Kamille Tan finished with nine markers each for SSC-R. Skipper Joyce Sta. Rita scored eight for the Lady Stags.
