NCAA Season 94: Altas out to complete title repeat
University of Perpetual Help goes for the jugular in Game 2 of the NCAA Season 94 men's volleyball Finals against College of St. Benilde.

University of Perpetual Help head coach Sammy Acaylar sees the NCAA Season 94 men’s volleyball Finals Game 2 battle between his Altas and College of St. Benilde a test of nerves and heart.

The multi-titled mentor stresses the importance of having his squad mentally prepared to close out the best-of-three series on Friday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

“Hindi na natin iisipin ang skills, hindi na natin iisipin ang stamina kasi tapos na ‘yun, nati-train na natin sila. It’s more of heart and mental (toughness) na,” said Acaylar, whose wards will march back into the court at 2:00 p.m. with their eyes set on the prize and on completing an amazing season sweep.

The match will air air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

Perpetual went through the proverbial eye of the needle to survive the tough challenge posed by the Blazers, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12, last week in the series opener.

Two-time Most Valuable Player Joebert Almodiel, Ronniel Rosales and Ridzuan Muhali will lead the charge of the Altas against the Season 92 champions, who will lean on veteran Francis Basilan, Ruvince Abrot, who scored 23 points in the opener, and Roniey Adviento.

Game 3, if needed, is on February 12.

Meanwhile, the unbeaten Junior Altas are out to claim their fifth straight title against Letran at 11:30 a.m.
