University of Perpetual Help Perps squad cheerleader Yuto Uriza completed his crew's routine despite hurting his right ankle midway in their performance.
University of Perpetual Help Perps squad cheerleader Yuto Uriza performed through pain despite hurting his right ankle on a bad landing midway in their routine Thursday in the NCAA Season 94 Cheerleading Competition at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Uriza was helped off the court after the Perps Squad’s performance and was wheeled back to their dugout on a wheelchair.
The cheerleader twisted his ankle on a bad landing after completing a tumbling.
“Napatagilid po ‘yung landing ng paa ko,” he told ABS-CBN Sports while getting his ankle treated by medical personnel.
The Perps Squad performed second.
Uriza stayed on the mat after his bad fall for a few moments before continuing with their routine with obvious pain painted on his face for the duration of their run.
The nine-time champions are looking to reclaim the crown they last held three years ago before Arellano University ruled the competition for two straight seasons.
