Kent Salado is out to reclaim his place as one of the top point guards in all of college

HOW’D THEY DO LAST SEASON? 5-13, 8th

YES, THEY’RE STILL HERE: Rence Alcoriza, Archie Concepcion

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY: Justin Arana, Alfren Gayosa, Gelo Sablan, Kent Salado (returning), Cholo Martin (coach)

GOOD LUCK ON FUTURE ENDEAVORS: Ian Alban, Michael Canete, Levi Dela Cruz, Guilmer Dela Torre, Jerry Codinera (coach)

WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT FROM ARELLANO?

Arellano’s campaign in NCAA Season 95 will be defined by one thing and one thing only – the return of Kent Salado.

Salado had been primed to take over as the face, the leader, and the shining star for the Chiefs after Jiovani Jalalon, but his fifth and final year got derailed by an ACL injury.

Now, the fearless playmaker is back and promises to be better than ever.

“Kent Salado will be a great help because of his leadership and his experience.” – head coach Cholo Martin

Only now, he will be under the tutelage of veteran coach Cholo Martin and his wingmen will be literally men at the wings in Rence Alcoriza and Archie Concepcion.

Gifted guards Ian Alban, Levi Dela Cruz, and Guilmer Dela Torre may no longer be around, but Arellano’s feeling upbeat about its chances with its heir apparent to Jalalon having returned to lead the way.

WHO IS/ARE THE PLAYER/S TO WATCH OUT FOR FROM ARELLANO?

It remains to be seen if the Salado of the now can be the Salado of before – meaning a playmaker who can create shots for himself and his teammates.

Still, the hope is leaning on the positive side and the graduating guard is expected to reclaim his place as one of the top point guards in all of college.

Aside from wingmen in Alcoriza and Concepcion, transferees Justin Arana and Gelo Sablan from University of Sto. Tomas as well as Alfren Gayosa from San Sebastian College-Recoletos are also being looked at to make an immediate impact.

WHY SHOULD WE ROOT FOR ARELLANO?

When Jalalon was still in Arellano, he had the perfect partner in Salado – as the latter was just a smaller version of the former.

Just about everybody wants Salado to regain that top form and, more than that, lead the Chiefs into a return to relevance.

At the end of all this, the now-24-year-old may very well have the comeback story just about everybody wants to witness.

WHERE WOULD ARELLANO BE AT THE END OF NCAA SEASON 95?

Arellano will be a tough out in NCAA Season 95.

“From the coaching staff to the players, our first goal is to be in the Final Four. Arellano will be competitive this coming season.” – head coach Cholo Martin

Their outlook at the Final Four is far from rosy, but without a doubt, they will cause problems for the legitimate contenders for those playoff berths.

WHEN IS ARELLANO’S FIRST GAME IN NCAA SEASON 95?

Salado is out to come back with a vengeance as season host Arellano clashes with defending champion San Beda University on opening day, July 7 at MOA Arena.

As always, the latest season of the first and oldest collegiate league in the country will be on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and livestream.
