University of Perpetual Help will not have Frankie Lim at the helm for an indefinite amount of time.
The Altas revealed Saturday that, for now, Jrs. head coach Myk Saguiguit will be taking the place of coach Frankie. "Coach Frankie Lim is on leave, as per the decision of the (executive committee) of University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA," athletic director Sammy Acaylar said.
Acaylar also added that, with this development, Coach Myk will be now pulling double-duty as mentor of the school's Srs. and Jrs. squads.
Now in his second season in Las Pinas, Coach Frankie had been overseeing a campaign which has the Perps at 2-5 in the standings thus far.
The development, though, comes a day after the multi-titled mentor suffered one of the worst losses in his storied career, a 46-point beatdown at the hands of San Beda University.
Last year, in his first year back in the NCAA, Coach Frankie guided Perpetual's return to the Final Four where they bowed to the eventual champion Red Lions.
He also called the shots as Nigerian tower Prince Eze took home the MVP award.
With him "on leave," the onus will be on coach Myk to get back on track an Alta side led by Ben Adamos, Edgar Charcos, and Jielo Razon.
ABS-CBN Sports has contacted Coach Frankie for comment, but he is yet to respond as of press time.
