Colegio de San Juan de Letran was trailing San Sebastian College-Recoletos for majority of their matchup, Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
That was until Larry Muyang took matters into his own hands.
Muyang came alive in the final frame, scoring 15 of his 32 points to will the Knights into forcing overtime.
In the extra period, the burly big man only continued making his presence felt with four points. "Sakin kasi kanina sa game, parang iniisip ko lang na gusto ko lang mag-bounce back kaya lahat ginawa ko na," he said post-game, referring to their previous game - a loss to archrival San Beda University.
In the end, however, it was all for naught as they fell, 101-102.
"Kaya lang, wala e, ganun talaga. Basketball talaga kaya siguro, 'di rin kami pinalad ngayon," Muyang lamented after he also collected 18 rebounds, two blocks, and two assists.
Even worse, Letran's latest loss dropped them to 0-3 up against the other playoff hopefuls in San Sebastian, San Beda, and Lyceum of the Philippines University. "Ngayon sana (yung convincing win namin) kaso minalas. Okay lang naman sa amin kasi napakita namin kung paano kami maglaro ngayon, pero kinapos lang talaga," he said.
Still, last season's Rookie of the Year remains upbeat about the Knights' charge to the playoffs - even with a match-up opposite another playoff hopeful in College of St. Benilde coming up. "Kailangang-kailangan namin yun. Kung 'di namin matatalo yung CSB, parang tagilid kami," he said.
He then continued, "Pero para sa akin, may tiwala pa rin kami sa isa't-isa lalo na eto na naman yung chance para makatalo ng contender."
