Lyceum of the Philippines University yet again had a tough time against Arellano University in their rematch in the NCAA 95 Men's Basketball Tournament, but this time around, the former had all the answers for the latter.

Behind Marcelino twins Jaycee and Jayvee, the Pirates went on a late surge to propel past first round tormentor Chiefs for a 93-90 decision, Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The chaos-creating brothers turned it on in the endgame, spearheading the 11-2 run that turned a two-point edge, 81-79, into a 90-81 advantage in favor of LPU.

Arellano didn't quit just yet in the last two minutes, however, as Kent Salado and Gelo Sablan shot them to just within 90-92 with 21.7 ticks to go.

After Reymar Caduyac made his first and missed his second free throw, Salado still had a chance to make something happen, but the Marcelinos forced him into a well-contested three that fell short.

In the end, JCM stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, seven assists, and five rebounds while twin JVM had 10 markers, three boards, and three dimes.

Mike Nzeusseu also dominated down low for 23 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and two assists to help the Pirates exact revenge on the same squad that had upset them in the first round, 81-87.

More importantly, the win nudged LPU to solo second in the standings at 7-3 - Colegio de San Juan de Letran can tie them there, however, if it wins its ongoing matchup opposite Jose Rizal University. "All of us knows this, that we just want to keep on improving as a team," head coach Topex Robinson said.

Salaco paced the Chiefs with 21 points to go along with seven assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Four other teammates were in double-digits, but that was far from enough from preventing their fall to 2-8.
