Red Lions ground Heavy Bombers to go 12-0 in NCAA 95

San Beda University clamped down on Jose Rizal University in the second half to claim a 65-47 decision, Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre, that raises their record to a still perfect 12-0 in the NCAA 95 Men's Basketball Tournament.
James Canlas waxed hot with 18 points in efficient 7-of-12 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and two assists to shoot the Red Lions to yet another win in their title defense.
Calvin Oftana had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists of his own while Evan Nelle had 11 markers, four dimes, two boards, and two steals to his name.
Still, the Heavy Bombers were actually ahead, 31-27, at halftime until the defending champions tightened up their defense and only allowed 12 points in the third and then four points in the fourth for their opponents.
In all, San Beda forced JRU into 26 turnovers which were quickly converted into 26 points.
Agem Miranda fronted the effort for the blue and gold with 14 points while John Amores also added 11 markers. Unable to buy a basket in the second half, however, they see their record drop to 4-8
