NCAA 95: Knights stay in step for second-seed after stomping on Chiefs

Colegio de San Juan de Letran willed its way back into the win column - and more importantly, the chase for the second-seed in the NCAA 95 Men's Basketball Tournament - with a well-earned 97-84 win against Arellano University, Thursday at Filoil
Flying V Centre.
Trailing by three at halftime, the Knights stampeded onto a 34-point third quarter and ultimately ran away from the Chiefs.
In the end, they counted six players in double-digits led by Bonbon Batiller who scored 18 points while Larry Muyang and Jeo Ambohot combined for 30 markers and 11 boards.
Allen Mina also provided a big boost as a surprise starter with 12 points while Jerrick Balanza and Fran Yu had 11 markers each to their names.
With the bounce back win, Letran returned to its winning ways and at 10-6, remains well within reach of the second-seed presently in the possession of 11-3 Lyceum of the Philippines University.
On the other hand, Arellano now finds itself with its back against the wall, holding on to a 4-11 card. Justin Arana and Kent Salado paced them in this one, as always, the former finishing with 19 points, three rebounds, three blocks, and three assists and the latter ending with 18 markers, four dimes, and two boards.
