Tonton Peralta razed the nets inside the Filoil Flying V Centre, Tuesday and registered a new career-high as University of Perpetual Help rallied around the early ejection of Kim Aurin for a much-welcome 77-66 win against Jose Rizal University.
Both teams have already been eliminated from contention in the NCAA 95 Men's Basketball Tournament, but their first back-to-back wins are nonetheless much welcome for the Altas.
Peralta was a big part of that, going online from the get-go and getting for himself 25 points to go along with nine rebounds. "He deserves the career-high with the way he played," head coach Frankie Lim said post-game.
With the second-year-swingman leading the charge, Perps overcame the loss of Aurin who was slapped with a disqualifying foul in the first quarter.
Still, they persevered all throughout for a wire-to-wire win that raises their record to 5-10. "We want to win all three games pa rin. We want to develop a winning attitude - it's the most we can do," coach Frankie said, talking about their remaining assignments in the tournament.
Edgar Charcos and Ben Adamos also did their part in this one with the former finishing with 13 points, nine assists, five steals, and four rebounds and the latter ending with 11 markers, 12 boards, three dimes, and four pilfers.
For the Heavy Bombers, Agem Miranda topped the scoring column with 16 points. JL Delos Santos and Marwin Dionisio then chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively, but still saw their side fall to 4-11.
