Jerrick Balanza and Bonbon Batiller saved their best for last as Colegio de San Juan de Letran bested archrival San Beda University in Game 3 of the NCAA 95 Men's Basketball Finals.
Balanza waxed hot all throughout with 27 points built on five triples to go along with seven rebounds and three assists while Batiller had his own 19 markers, five boards, three dimes, and two steals as the Knights charged to their first championship since 2015.
With that, the two guards are leaving Intramuros as champions.
And with that, the two guards are only nothing but good to go for the next step in their young careers. "I think they're ready for the next level sa performance na binigay nila this season. Lagi ko namang sinasabi sa kanila, individual awards will follow, pero ang importante, winner ka," head coach Bonnie Tan said.
As the deadline for application to the 2019 PBA Draft approaches, Balanza and Batiller have already decided to throw their names into the hat.
"Finished business na eh. Para sa family naman namin so mag-aapply na kami," Balanza said.
Batiller could only agree. "Kailangan na namin," he said.
