Stars collide in first-ever NCAA volleyball All-Star Game

NCAA women’s volleyball fans get sneak peek of what’s to come and a sense of nostalgia when current and former stars collide in the NCAA Season 95 All-Star Game on Tuesday at the MOA Arena.

For the first time, the league will include a volleyball exhibition match in the annual event held to showcase the best players from the 10 member schools.

Action is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. as curtain-raiser for the featured Basketball All-Star Game set at 4:00 p.m.

Three-time defending champion Arellano, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Jose Rizal University, Mapua University and Lyceum of the Philippines University will compose Team Heroes going up against Team Saints bannered by College of St. Benilde, San Beda University, Letran, San Sebastian College and University of Perpetual Help.

Season 94 Finals Most Valuable Player Regine Arocha and setter Sarah Verutiao will team up with former Queen Lady Chief Jovy Prado for Team Heroes and will be joined by Season 93 MVP ex-Queen Lady Bomber Shola Alvarez and current JRU stars Dolly Versoza and Mary May Ruiz. Other players for Team Heroes are Kathrine Almazan, Kristine Magallanes and Arianne Agustia (alumna) of the Lady Generals; Bien Juanillo, Alexa Rafael and Cherilyn Sindayen (alumna) of the Lady Pirates and Lady Cardinals’ Lorraine Barias, Jonina Fernandez and Kat Racelis (alumna).

Spearheading Team Saints are Klarissa Abriam, setter Jewel Lai and Rachel Austero (alumna) of the Lady Blazers; Lady Knights’ Julienne Castro, Chamberlaine Cunada and Miracle Mendoza (alumna) and Cesca Racraquin, Kim Manzano and national team member Ces Molina (alumna) of the Lady Red Spikers. Also part of the squad are libero Jewelle Bermillo, Kamille Amaka and former MVP Grethcel Soltones (alumna) of the Lady Stags and Lady Altas’ Jenny Gaviola, Shyra Umandal and Cindy Imbo (alumna).
