Lyceum of the Philippines University’s first homegrown star is, well, staying home.
Mac Guadana has decided to keep donning the maroon and gray and to continue with the program which discovered and developed him. “Nag-commit na po ako sa LPU Manila,” he said.
Guadana had spent the last four years in LPU Cavite where, slowly but surely, he helped turn the Jr. Pirates from cellar-dwellers to contenders.
The 5-foot-11 guard can do it all and put up per game counts of 17.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.0 steals last year.
There, he and Season MVP John Barba led LPU to its first Final Four and then its first Finals in school history.
They even won Game 2 in the best-of-three championship round before ultimately bowing to San Beda High School.
Now, the former Batang Gilas standout will keep joining forces with Barba to help make sure the Pirates continue their contention in this new era now without all of CJ Perez, Mike Nzeusseu, MJ Ayaay, and Marcelino twins Jaycee and Jayvee.
