Three-time defending champion Arellano University gets a chance to take a piece of the lead in a clash with winless San Sebastian College on Saturday in the NCAA Season 95 women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 12:00 noon and will air via iWant.
The Lady Chiefs are currently at second spot sporting a 3-0 win-loss record behind league-leading College of St. Benilde (4-0).
Veteran hitter Regine Arcoha, who is averaging 16.3 points per game, and Carla Donato have been producing consistent numbers for Arellano U, which hurdled Lyceum of the Philippines University, Mapua University and Jose Rizal University for an unblemished card.
But the Lady Chiefs remain wary of how dangerous the young Lady Stags are.
Despite an empty-handed first three outings, SSC-R is still a very hungry team looking to score an upset to turn its campaign around. The Lady Stags are at the cellar together with LPU and Emilio Aguinaldo College.
Meanwhile, the JRU Lady Bombers will try to arrest a two-game slide in three starts when they meet the LPU Lady Pirates at 2:00 p.m.
After scoring a five-set win over the Lady Stags to open the season, JRU fell victim to San Beda University and Arellano U.
LPU, on the other hand, seeks to break in the win column.
In men’s play, Arellano U and SSC-R’s match is slated at 10:00 a.m. while the LPU-JRU match is set at 3:30 p.m.
Facing off in the juniors’ curtain-raiser are Arellano U and SSC-R while the playdate will close with the LPU-JRU tussle at 5:00 p.m.
