With head coach Goldwin Monteverde hoping to carry over his winning tradition from the juniors division to seniors division, National University will be welcoming back a fearless slasher who knows a thing or two about winning.

Cyril Gonzales is all set to return to Sampaloc and give Coach Gold another promising prospect as he tries to turn the Bulldogs around.

The 6-foot guard impressed in his first and only year for Mapua University last year wherein he put up per game counts of 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals in 23 minutes of play.

Before his time as a Cardinal, however, Gonzales was a key cog in Coach Gold's breakthrough championship with the Bullpups. Then, he normed 8.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in 21 minutes of play

Now, he will be back with his mentor as they hope to improve on the blue and gold's 2-12 showing in the Srs. a season ago.
