Team Lakay bantamweight Kevin 'The Silencer' Belingon needed only a little over a minute to dispose of Australia's Reece McLaren, winning via knockout at ONE Championship: Quest for Greatness, Saturday evening in Kuala Lumpur.
Belingon caught McLaren with a vicious right hook as the Fil-Aussie was coming in, sending the former title challenger to the canvass.
Belingon, a former title challenger in his own right, followed McLaren to the ground and unloaded a barrage of strikes, forcing the official to step in and stop the bout.
Belingon snatches his third straight win since coming up short to reigning ONE Bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes back in early 2016.
The win likely earns the Baguo-based knockout artist another crack at the Brazilian titleholder, who recently recorded his seventh title defense in Macau.
Belingon's Team Lakay stablemate Edward 'The Ferocious' Kelly wasn't as fortunate however, as the featherweight dropped a unanimous decsion to promotional newcomer Emilio Urrutia of the United States.
The American weathered an early striking barrage from Kelly to utilize his superior grappling to ground the Pinoy throughout three rounds.
In the final moments of the match, Urrutia outstruck an exhausted Kelly to secure the decision after three rounds.
The loss snaps a three-fight winning streak for the Team Lakay star.
In other Filipino action, Rene Catalan outpointed China's Bu Huo You Ga to score a unanimous decision win and pick up his third consecutive victory.
Rene's younger brother Robin was on the wrong end of a stoppage however, as he fell to former ONE champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke via second round knockout.
