On November 10th, Martin Nguyen walks into enemy territory as he tries to dethrone reigning and defending ONE Lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Aside from a size and weight advantage, the champ Folayang will also have the hometown crowd behind him as he tries to defend his title for a second time.

For the challenger, who also happens to be ONE Championship's newly-crowned featherweight world champion, he isn't sweating the Pinoy crowd, and is in fact eager to perform for them.

"I’m very excited, I’m returning to the Philippines, it’s a massive deal." Nguyen said during the media faceoffs in Manila.

Nguyen was all praise for Filipino fight fans, whom he called 'well-educated' in terms of MMA appreciation.

"You guys are very very well-educated when it comes to combat sports. My last fight [here in Manila] with Li Kai Wen, it was potentially a Fight of the Night, and experiencing those three to four minutes, I was in awe."

The last time that Nguyen fought in Manila was back in April of 2016, a first-round TKO win over Li Kai Wen. Come November 10th, Nguyen will look to recreate the result, but he likely won't get any standing ovation if he manages to do so.

"The Filipinos, they love their combat sports and I’m here to put on a show for you guys, regardless of being the underdog or being hated because I’m fighting one of their heroes."

The 28-year old Australian is riding a five-fight winning streak heading into arguably the biggest challenge of his career.

Eduard Folayang defends his ONE Championship lightweight world title against reignign ONE Championship featherweight world champion Martin Nguyen in the main event of ONE: Legends of the World on Friday, November 10th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
