The ONE Championship cage goes up for the last time this year, as Asia’s leading mixed-martial arts promotion makes their long-awaited return to Bangkok, Thailand for ONE: Warriors of the World.

Four Filipino fighters will be flying the Philippine flag in 'The Land of Smiles', as they all look to end 2017 on a high note.

Following a year off to take care of her schooling, Team Lakay women’s strawweight contender April Osenio makes her return to the ONE Championship cage. She welcomes promotional newcomer Xiong ‘The Panda’ Jing Nan, a skilled striker out of Beijing, China.

Baguio-native Osenio will look to bounce back after coming off a loss and a long layoff, while the debuting Xiong tries to make an immediate impact in the ONE Championship women’s strawweight division.

In one of the more highly-anticipated matchups on the card, Manila’s Rome ‘The Rebel’ Trinidad makes her ONE Championship debut against Thai-Japanese fan favorite Rika ‘Tiny Doll’ Ishige in a women’s atomweight contest.

A model-turned-mixed martial artist, Trinidad looks to show that she’s a legitimate competitor as she tries to follow the footsteps of fellow Filipina Jomary Torres, who shocked the world by submitting Ishige in Macau last August. Ishige on the other hand, is determined to bounce back in front of a home country crowd.

Also on the card, Cebu’s Jimmy ‘The Silencer’ Yabo and Iloilo’s Rabin ‘The Rock’ Catalan look to snap their losing skids, as they take on hometown heroes Sagetdao Petpayathai and Kritsada ‘The Dream Man’ Kongsritchai respectively.

With just one win in his last six outings, Yabo looks to get back on the win column once again, while Catalan, yet to taste victory inside a ONE Championship cage, will have some added motivation heading into fight night as he dedicates his upcoming bout to late teammate Rocky Batolbatol.

In the main event of the evening, the ONE Championship strawweight world title is up for grabs, as reigning and defending titleholder Yoshitaka ‘Nobita’ Naito looks to make his second straight successful title defense when he takes on Brazilian challenger Alex ‘Little Rock’ Sliva.

Unbeaten in twelve professional bouts, Naito has defeated the likes of former champion Dejdamrong Amnuay Sirichoke and Team Lakay’s Joshua Pacio, and looks to add another big name to that list. Silva on the other hand, has racked up five straight wins, all coming via submission, to earn a shot at world championship gold.

In the co-main event, Thailand’s own Shannon ‘One Shin’ Wiratchai meets Russia’s Rasul Yakyaev in a lightweight world title eliminator bout. The winner gets the next ONE lightweight world title shot at reigning champion Martin Nguyen.

ONE Championship: Warriors of the World happens on Saturday, December 9th at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
