Filipina model-turned-mixed martial artist Rome 'The Rebel' Trinidad put on a gutsy performance in her second-round submission loss to hometown favorite Rika 'Tiny Doll' Ishige, Saturday evening at ONE Championship: Warriors of the World in Bangkok, Thailand.
Trinidad, a ONE Championship newcomer, pressured Ishige in the first round, landing the cleaner shots which included a flurry of punches towards the end of the first frame.
Ishige decided to take the fight to the ground in the second round, clamping on a rear naked choke, but was a little too high on Trinidad to secure the hold.
Trinidad managed to escape, but Ishige landed a stiff straight that wobbled the Pinay.
Ishige pounced once again, clamping on a rear naked choke and Trinidad tried to fight it off once more, but was ultimately forced to tap out with less than a minute left in the second round.
Trinidad improves drops to 1-1 in her MMA career, while Ishige bounces back and improves to 3-1.
