Filipino mixed martial artist Rene ' The Challenger' Catalan looks to kick off 2018 with a bang as he tries to extend his winning streak to four straight at ONE Championship: Kings of Courage in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Unbeaten since 2014 when he was stopped by former ONE strawweight world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, the Iloilo native has racked up three straight victories and is coming off a decision win over China's Huo You Ga Bu.

Catalan will be taking on a young Chinese prospect in Xuewen Peng, who was successful in his ONE debut, submitting Cambodia's Phat Soda in the first round.

A few more wins, and 'The Challenger' could be challenging for a world title very soon.

Catalan will be the lone Filipino representative on ONE's year-opening event, which will be headlined by a women's strawweight world championship match between Singapore's Tiffany 'No Chill' Teo and China's Xiong Jing Nan.

In the co-main event,  Indonesia's own unbeaten Stefer Rahardian meets Pakistan's Muhammad Imran in a flyweight matchup.

Also on the card, former world champions make their return to the ONE cage, as former middleweight world champion Vitaly Bigdash of Russia takes on Brazilian contender Leandro Ataides, and former long-time featherweight champion Marat 'Cobra' Gafurov meets former long-time lightweight champion Shinya 'Tobikan Judan' Aoki in a special grappling match.

ONE Championship: Kings of Courage takes place on Saturday, January 20th at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.
