Eustaquio feels pressure and privilege of fighting at home
"It feels pressuring, because a hundred and twelve million Filipinos are watching you, but it’s also a privilege to represent them."

On Friday night, Team Lakay flyweight standout Geje Eustaquio will be on the marquee fight of ONE Championship's first card for 2018 in Manila, where he'll be taking on former world champion Kairat Akhmetov in a rematch for the interim ONE Championship flyweight world title.

It won't be 'Gravity's first time in the main event of a ONE card, but it will be his first headliner on home soil.

For the Baguio City native, fighting in front of the pro-Pinoy crowd is both pressure and privilege.

"It feels pressuring, because a hundred and twelve million Filipinos are watching you," Eustaquio told ABS-CBN Sports. "But it’s also a privilege to represent them."

Regardless of where he's positioned in the card though, Eustaquio says that it's just another day in the office.

"As I always say, in Team Lakay we always do our assignments."

"We go there and do our best, and God will do the rest." Eustaquio added.

Geje Eustaquio and Kairat Akhmetov battle for the interim ONE flyweight world championship at ONE: Global Superheroes on Friday, January 26th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.
