Edward Kelly needed only 21 seconds to finish off Cambodia's Meas Meul at ONE Championship: Global Superheroes in Manila.
Team Lakay’s Edward Kelly needed only 21 seconds to put away Cambodian Meas Meul, scoring a vicious head kick knockout at ONE Championship: Global Superheroes, Friday evening at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The initial stiking exchange spelled doom for Meul, as the Baguio City native landed a clean right-left hook combination, followed by a vicious head kick that landed flush on the jaw, sending the Cambodian fighter crashing to the mat.
The stoppage came in at just 21 seconds into the first round.
"I hope you understand the feeling. Im so much happy not for myself but for my team and I hope my teammates will also get the win." An emotional Kelly said during the post-fight interview.
Just moments earlier, he saw his Team Lakay teammate April Osenio get stopped by the unbeaten Jomary Torres in just 40 seconds.
Kelly improves to 10-4 in his professional career.
