Team Lakay's Danny Kingad returns to ONE cage in Kuala Lumpur
Team Lakay's Danny 'The King' Kingad makes his return to the ONE cage this March.
Team Lakay flyweight contender Danny 'The King' Kingad will be making his return to the ONE Championship cage this coming March when he takes on hometown favorite Gianni Subba at ONE: Visions of Victory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
21-year old Baguio native Kingad burst onto the ONE Championship scene in 2016, picking up three straight wins and eventually earning a title shot against reigning flyweight king Adriano Moraes in Manila back in November of 2017.
Unfortunately for the young Kingad, the more experienced Moraes had his way with the young challenger, scoring a submission win in just a round.
Kingad now has the opportunity to bounce back against a tough test in Subba.
Riding a two-fight winning streak, Kuala Lumpur's own Subba is also on a quest to reach the top of the flyweight mountain.
A ONE veteran since 2012, Subba has won six of his last seven bouts, including victories over the likes of Anatpong Bunrad, Yago Bryan, and Riku Shibuya. Subba's last loss came in 2016 against newly-crowned ONE interim flyweight world champion and Kingad's teammate Geje Eustaquio.
Also flying the Philippine flag in Kuala Lumpur will be featherweight Burn 'Hitman' Soriano, who'll be taking on another hometown bet in Muhammad Aiman.
Winning just once in his last four outings, Soriano is looking to get back on track with an much-needed win. Soriano's last victory came in explosive fashion, taking out Thailand's Mario Wirawan in just fifteen seconds via a spinning back-fist KO.
The winner of three of his last four bouts, Aiman looks to stay hot against a struggling Pinoy fighter in Soriano.
