After exactly 364 days since his last fight, Team Lakay lightweight Honorio ‘The Rock’ Banario finally makes his return at ONE Championship: Heroes of Honor on Friday, April 20th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The hard-hitting former world champion has his work cut out for him however, as he’s going to be welcomed by tough Australian veteran Adrian ‘The Hunter’ Pang.
Pang may be riding a three-fight losing streak, but it doesn’t take away the fact that he’s one tough customer.
Pang can take punishment and keep moving forward, much like he did against Banario’s teammate, former ONE Lightweight Champion Eduard Folayang in Macau back in 2016.
Banario, who was on the same Macau card, took notes.
“Hindi ko naman ina-underestimate si Adrian Pang because alam naman natin talagang matibay, tapos he keeps moving forward, kahit na tinatamaan na siya, pumapasok parin,” Banario said. “I’m just prepared and ready. I have belief in myself, it’s going to be a good fight.”
Aside from the ability to walk through punches, Pang is also quite the hard hitter. Looking like he’s chiseled out of stone, one good punch from Pang can definitely turn off anyone’s lights, and Banario says that in preparation for this fight, he’s pretty much focused on how to not get hit.
Banario added.
As big and as tough as Pang is, Banario knows that anyone can be put down, with the right tools.
We will see, wala namang matigas na tinapay sa mainit na kape eh.”
