Gravity vs. Mighty Mouse in 2019?
Among those who are excited to have former UFC Flyweight Champion and pound-for-pound great Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson over at ONE Championship is the promotion's reigning flyweight titleholder, Team Lakay's Geje Eustaquio.
Johnson is offically coming over to ONE after a trade which sent former ONE Welterweight World Champion Ben Askren over to the UFC.
"Welcome home to the home of real martial arts values and organization," Eustaquio told ABS-CBN Sports when asked for a reaction to the arrival of Johnson.
The Baguio City-native Eustaquio captured the ONE Flyweight World Championship back in June after earning a split decision win over Brazilian Adriano Moraes in Macau.
With Johnson, the holder of the most championship defenses in UFC history, coming over, it's highly likely that his first fight with ONE would be against the reigning champion Eustaquio.
Asked about a potential matchup with "Mighty Mouse" Eustaquio says that it is a source of renewed motivation.
"I'm up into a new challenge. When you have the belt, it makes you lazy and relaxed, but when you have the best in your division, it makes you reconsider everything," he expressed.
"It makes me get back to the hungry 'Gravity'," he continued.
Eustaquio also expressed that if he does draw Johnson as his first title challenger, he'd like "Gravity vs. Mighty Mouse" to take place in Japan, with ONE Championship set to make their debut in the Land of the Rising Sun in March of 2019.
