Geje Eustaquio meets Adriano Moraes for the ONE Flyweight World Championship at ONE: Hero's Ascent in Manila on January 25th
ONE Championship's first of four trips to Manila in 2019 will feature Team Lakay star and reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje "Gravity" Eustaquio defending his title against a very familiar opponent in former champion Adriano "Mikinho" Moraes.
The strawweight world title bout headlines ONE: Hero's Ascent set for Friday, January 25th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
This will be the third meeting between Eustaquio and Moraes after splitting their first two encounters, both times for the ONE Flyweight World Championship.
Moraes won the first bout in 2014 after submitting Eustaquio in the second round to capture ONE's inaugural strawweight title.
Eustaquio, who captured the ONE Interim Flyweight World Championship in January of 2018, went on to win the second encounter in June of the same year, avenging his previous loss to Moraes with a split decision win to unify the titles.
The highly-anticipated grudge match could ultimately decide who will be waiting for the winner of the ONE Flyweight Grand Prix which begins in March in Tokyo, Japan.
Eustaquio will be the second world champion from the Philippines to defend his title in 2019, following teammate and reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua Pacio who is set to face Japanese challenger Yosuke Saruta on January 19th in Jakarta.
Another fellow Team Lakay star in Eduard Folayang has also been scheduled to put his ONE Lightweight World Championship up for grabs, taking on former champion Shinya Aoki in Tokyo this March as well.
