Manila plays host to an explosive trilogy match for the ONE Flyweight World Championship, as reigning titleholder Geje "Gravity" Eustaquio of Team Lakay faces Brazilian two-time champion Adriano "Mikinho" Moraes for flyweight supremacy in the main event of ONE: Hero's Ascent this Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
ONE's first-ever three-part rivalry, Eustaquio and Moraes share the cage for the third time in their careers, with a lot at stake.
For the reigning champion, it will be a chance to prove that his split decision win over Moraes last July was no fluke. Aside from that, it's a chance to re-energize Team Lakay's 2019 campaign following back-to-back losses from Edward Kelly and Joshua Pacio just six days ago in Jakarta.
For the challenger, it's a chance to write history by becoming the first three-time champion in ONE history. Furthermore, it's a chance for Moraes to establish himself as the best flyweight in the promotion.
For both men, it's a chance to cement their spot at the top of the division and become the person to face the winner of the highly-anticipated ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix, which features the best flyweights in the company, including newly-signed former UFC star Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson.
In the co-main event, the ONE Lightweight Grand Prix kicks off with two of the best lightweights in ONE looking to advance into the next round, as former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio "The Rock" Banario meets Hawaiian grappler Lowen Tynanes quarterfinal matchup.
ONE Championship's first-ever featherweight king, Banario has moved up in weight and has reached a level of success, but the Team Lakay standout wants to be able to recreate his featherweight run over at the lightweight division, and one way to start is by running through the lightweight grand prix.
Standing in his way however as an ultra-tough wrestler in Tynanes, who's coming off a near-three year hiatus. The rugged Hawaiian, who's unbeaten in nine professional fights, is coming back hungry and looking to remind everyone just why he's a top contender in the division.
In a featured flyweight bout, Danny "The King" Kingad targets his fourth straight win when he takes on Japan's Tatsumitsu "The Sweeper" Wada in an all-important matchup.
A former world title contender, Team Lakay's Kingad has once again built an impressive winning streak for himself as he tries to get back at the top of the flyweight mountain. Standing in his way is Wada, a former DEEP Flyweight Champion who's looking for the biggest win of his ONE career so far.
At stake for both men will be entry in to the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix, along with the other top flyweights in the division. The winner of the tournament gets a shot at the ONE Flyweight World Championship.
