Gina Iniong Looks To Win In Bangkok With ‘Conviction’
"They can expect an aggressive and determined Gina Iniong on fight night. I'm out to show that I am going for my spot [and enter] title contention."

Gina "Conviction" Iniong is raring to get back to her winning ways when she takes on undefeated rising star Jihin “Shadow Cat" Radzuan on the undercard of ONE: CLASH OF LEGENDS, which is set for 16 February at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Iniong, once regarded as the top bet to give ONE Women's Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee a run for her money, is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Istela Nunes at ONE: BATTLE FOR THE HEAVENS last July.

Understanding her shortcomings in the past, the Filipina is motivated to push herself further than ever — especially with the recent losses of her Team Lakay teammates in ONE Championship fresh on her mind.

"Training is going really well. We train twice a day, once in the morning and in the afternoon. We have studied Radzuan's previous fights, and we now have a game plan," Iniong said.

"I realized in my last fight that I have so many things to work on and develop. I took a short vacation, then went back to the gym right after. We focused on my weaknesses in training. We gave a lot of time on my ground game."

Iniong's latest loss did nothing but ignite a fire within her. Now, she is training harder than ever, and will be out to excite the crowd in Bangkok.

"I am working really hard in training by pushing myself to the limits. I follow my coaches' advise in every turn," she said.

"They can expect an aggressive and determined Gina Iniong on fight night. I'm out to show that I am going for my spot [and enter] title contention."

Seeing as how two of her teammates — Joshua "The Passion" Pacio and Geje "Gravity" Eustaquio — suffered unfavorable decisions in their recent World Title bouts, Iniong is driven to get a finish either by knockout or submission.

"Anything can happen in a fight," she quipped. "All I can say is I don't want the fight to go to the judges' scorecards."
