Pacio not thinking about hometown crowd in title rematch
"I will do everything to get the belt back. It is going to be an explosive and exciting fight."

Joshua "The Passion" Pacio will have an arena packed with his own supporters when he attempts to reclaim the ONE Strawweight World Title against Yosuke "The Ninja" Saruta in their rematch.

The pair is scheduled to stand across each other inside the cage for the second time in the co-main event of ONE: ROOTS OF HONOR, which takes place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on 12 April.

"I went back to training immediately after our first fight. I am not satisfied with my performance, I wanted to showcase so many techniques and the only way I could do that is by getting back to training," Pacio shared.

"It does not matter if it is a hometown crowd, I have to dominate him and show that I deserve to win. There is no such thing as a hometown advantage in ONE Championship."

The 23-year-old Team Lakay star yielded his title to the Japanese veteran at ONE: ETERNAL GLORY last January by way of razor-thin split decision.

It was an outing that could have gone either way, and Pacio is looking to settle the score once and for all in front of his countrymen.

He concedes that he lost his focus in his first title defense--an error not to be repeated on the night of 12 April.

"We thought I kind of lost my focus in the first fight," he quipped.

"I have to be one hundred percent focused in the rematch. I do not want to think about his experience advantage, I do not think it will be a factor in our next fight."

"The Passion" believes that his upcoming bout is a make-or-break situation for him, promising to leave no stone unturned in his quest to become a World Champion again.

"The fans can expect a renewed and improved Joshua Pacio," he stated.

"I will do everything to get the belt back. It is going to be an explosive and exciting fight."
