Filipino flyweight contender Danny "The King" Kingad earned a tough decision win over Japan's Senzo Ikeda at ONE: A New Era, Sunday evening at the Ryogoku Kokukigan to advance to the semifinals of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix.
Kingad found himself in a number of precarious positions against the former Shooto Flyweight Champion, but was ultimately able to use his continuously-improving grappling to work his way out of danger and earn the win after three rounds of action.
With the win, Kingad advances into the semis to face former ONE Flyweight World Champion Kairat Akhmetov, who was also victorious earlier in the card against Reece McLaren.
Kingad improves to 13-1 in his professional career.
