Australian teenager Alma Juniku will be making her ONE Championship debut at ONE: Legendary Quest on Saturday, 15 June at the Baoshan Arena in Shanghai, China.

The 18-year old Muay Thai star has a massive test and at the same time a massive opportunity in front of her as she challenges Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex for the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship.

Juniku is no stranger to world championships, having captured the WBC and IPCC Muay Thai World Championships in the past. Now as she steps onto the biggest stage in her career, Juniku sets her sights on the biggest title in the sport.

“Winning this world title would mean the world to me,” Juniku said excitedly. “If I win this title it’ll put my name up there and will definitely set me up for the future.”

Her ONE debut will be a different experience for Juniku, as she will be competing with four-ounce mixed martial arts gloves in a Muay Thai contest.

“I’m excited to fight for the title against Stamp!” Juniku shared. “Although MMA gloves are new to me so I just have to adjust my technique a little, I’m excited to try new things and step out of my comfort zone.”

“Stamp fairtex is a strong and technical fighter, it’ll be a good hard fight and I’m very excited to be stepping in with the best,” Juniku added.

At the very young age of 18, Juniku isn’t short on experience, having nearly a decade of training and competition under her belt.

“I was 8 years old and started fighting at the age of 9, I’ve been training Muay Thai for almost 10 years!”

When she began defeating more experienced fighters, Juniku decided that Muay Thai could indeed be a career path.

“I decided to turn it into a career when I started beating adults especially still being a kid/teenager,” she explained.
