Team Lakay’s Eduard "Landslide" Folayang has four teammates who will compete at the historic ONE: CENTURY double-header – but he recently turned his focus to the newly minted match-up for the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship Final.

Saygid "Dagi" Guseyn Arslanaliev battles Christian "The Warrior" Lee in the lightweight finale at ONE: CENTURY PART I in Tokyo, Japan on 13 October.

"Dagi" was originally scheduled to face Eddie "The Underground King" Alvarez, but the latter withdraw from the tournament after getting injured.

Folayang was tapped to replace Alvarez but had visa problems. Lee – the Singaporean sensation – stepped in and took the bout on short notice.

“They’re both very aggressive fighters. I think [Arslanaliev’s] advantage is that he’s been a lightweight for a long time while Christian Lee just moved up,” the former ONE Lightweight World Champion said.

“But this will be a very good match because they’re both aggressive.”

Fans and experts alike saw “Dagi” as the pre-tournament darkhorse, but with three-straight stoppages in the first round he now comes in as the favorite.

And while “Landslide" agrees that the Dagestan-born Turkish is the rightful favorite, he reminds everyone not to look past Lee, who is a World Champion for a reason.

“We cannot look past Lee,” Folayang said. “He also went through a lot to become a World Champion.”

“There’s no such thing as a clear-cut favorite because this is MMA, anything can happen.”

Weighing in on the match, the 35-year-old sees the power department favoring Arslanaliev – particularly with how he took out the biggest names of the division.

“[Arslanaliev’s] advantages are his size and power. I’m not exaggerating when I say that he’s finished the who’s who of the lightweight division,” the Team Lakay representative said.

But if there is someone who is bold enough to trade with ‘Dagi,’  it is the youthful World Champion from Evolve MMA.

“Lee can mix it up with his striking and ground game, but he needs to match the power of ‘Dagi.’”

“All I can say is ‘Dagi' is slightly ahead because of his size and full-training camp," Folayang added.
