TOKYO, JAPAN - Honorio Banario put up a fight but was ultimately taken down and submitted by Japanese MMA legend Shinya Aoki at ONE: Century Part 2, Sunday evening at the Ryogoku Kokugikan here.
Aoki immediately shot in for a double-leg takedown, but Banario battled to remain on his feet. It wasn't long before the fight went to the ground, and from there, the former two-time ONE Lightweight World Champion Aoki dominated.
The Japanese star wasted little time in catching Banario in a D'Arce choke, leaving the former featherweight champion little choice but to tap out.
The stoppage time came in at 54 seconds.
