Joshua "The Passion" Pacio plans to spend the holidays by doing what he loves most – improving his game.
The ONE Strawweight World Champion defends his strap for the second time when he takes on Brazilian Alex “Little Rock” Silva in the main event of ONE: FIRE & FURY at the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on 31 January.
That is why “The Passion" is determined to be better at every facet of his game.
“I haven’t reached my entire potential. I will be spending the holidays training,” Pacio said.
“I’ll find time to visit coach Ali Heydarabadi in Cavite – I’ll work on my wrestling. Then I’ll head to coach John Baylon for my jiu-jitsu.”
Wushu might be his bread and butter when it comes to striking, and it has been his biggest asset in his amazing run so far. But the Baguio City native plans to come into his World Title defense a whole new striker.
“Even in my standup I feel the need to add new things to my game. I think I definitely need to show more,” Pacio said.
“Every time I fight, I need to be a different fighter. I know all the top contenders’ eyes are on me and they’re watching my every move, so they have to see a different athlete each time.”
Entering his second World Title defense, will be no stopping “The Passion” from leaving the Mall Of Asia Arena with the gold he enters with.
“Becoming a World Champion for the second time gave me more motivation to improve, because I know the pain of losing the belt,” Pacio said.
“My goal is to make sure it does not happen again. They will see a more determined Joshua Pacio on 31 January.”
