Former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio "The Rock" Banario of Team Lakay returns to action this February 28th as he takes on former lightweight contender Shannon "One Shin" Wiratchai at ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
2019 was a rough year for the 30-year old Banario in terms of in-ring success, as he absorbed defeat in all three of his assignments that year, falling to Lowen Tynanes, Dae Sung Park, and Shinya Aoki.
After a lengthy run at lightweight, former featherweight king returns to the division where he found success and he gets his chance to open 2020 with a win when he meets the veteran Wiratchai.
Banario has wins over Eddie Ng, Adrian Pang, Jaroslav Jartim, and Eric Kelly to name a few.
Like Banario, "One Shin" is also in dire need of a victory, having lost his last three bouts and four of his last five.
Wiratchai reeled off six straight victories from 2013 to 2017 and came within one win away from a world title shot, but saw his streak snapped by Rasul Yakhyaev. Since then, Wiratchai has struggled to find his footing, winning just once before dropping three straight to Aoki, Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu, and Iuri Lapicus.
A long-time lightweight contender, Wiratchai makes the move down to featherweight for a fresh start.
