PBA: Compton hopes Campbell can be Alaska's June Mar

After previously comparing Campbell's game to Ranidel De Ocampo, Alaska head coach Alex Compton now praised Antonio Campbell's attitude as similar to that of June Mar Fajardo, the PBA's one and only unstoppable force and reigning four-time Most Valuable Player.
Alaska has high hopes for its talented young import in Antonio Campbell.
And as the Aces rolled to back-to-back wins in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, head coach Alex Compton gave his reinforcement perhaps the best compliment ever.
After previously comparing Campbell's game to Ranidel De Ocampo, Compton now praised Antonio's attitude as similar to that of June Mar Fajardo, the PBA's one and only unstoppable force and reigning four-time Most Valuable Player.
"Parang, yung meron si June Mar, yung humbleness ni June Mar," Compton said.
"I think I was telling coach Louie when I saw him earlier before the game, that's the biggest thing that made June Mar a great player that he is is that he's humble and coachable. He's such a good guy. And I think Tony has some of that similar thing. Just really humble, bright and coachable," he added.
Sticking to the June Mar comparison, Compton can only hope that Campbell can be as dominant as Fajardo.
Compton is also hoping Campbell can help the Aces break through and win a title. Since 2015, Alaska has lost four Finals, three to June Mar Fajardo's San Miguel Beermen.
"If you wanna draw that June Mar analogy out and hopefully, he can come back and win four Best Imports and a lot of championships," Compton said of Campbell.
"But he has a long way to go," he added.
